Dhanush and Aishwarya’s “Velaiyilla Pattadhari” Faces Legal Troubles Over Smoking and Alcohol Depiction

Dhanush, the lead actor of the film “Velaiyilla Pattadhari” (known as “Raghuvaran B.Tech” in Telugu), and producer Aishwarya have recently faced legal action in the Madras High Court over allegations of violating the ban on smoking and depicting alcohol consumption in the film. The court, after considering the evidence of the case, delivered its verdict on Monday.

In the film, Dhanush was shown smoking and scenes depicting the production and consumption of alcohol, which are violations of the established guidelines and the Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act (COTPA). Taking cognizance of the matter, the court directed Dhanush, the production company, and the Tamil Nadu government to take appropriate action in controlling tobacco use in films. The case was filed by the Department of Health, with the support of the Tamil Nadu government.

The court’s verdict also prompted the Tamil Nadu government to file a petition against Dhanush and Aishwarya before the judiciary. The case is currently under consideration in the court. In response to the legal proceedings, Dhanush and Aishwarya have filed a counter-petition challenging the allegations. The case is being closely monitored by legal experts, and a hearing on the matter is scheduled for a later date. Advocate Anand Venkatesh represented the government’s case in court.

“Velaiyilla Pattadhari” is a Tamil film that portrays the story of a young graduate named Raghuvaran and his struggles in finding employment. The film received positive reviews and was well-received by audiences upon its release. Dhanush’s performance was highly praised by critics, further solidifying his reputation as a talented actor.
