Jr NTR’s highly anticipated film, Devara, has already stirred significant excitement among audiences. Featuring a star-studded cast and a trailer directed by Koratala Siva that has captivated fans, the film is generating considerable buzz. As the release date approaches, Devara has received its censor board certification, but not without some modifications.
According to an official press release from the film makers, Devara has been granted a U/A certificate, meaning it is suitable for public viewing with parental guidance for children under 12. HashtagU reported, “Creating a wave of excitement, Jr NTR’s Devara: Part 1 (Telugu) has been given the green light with a U/A certificate from the censor board.”
However, this certification comes with a twist. The censor board has mandated cuts to four crucial scenes. Three of these involve graphic violence: one shows a character kicking his wife, another depicts a character kicking his mother, and a third features a five-second shot of a dead character suspended by a sword. The final cut involves a scene of Jr NTR riding a shark, which must now include a disclaimer noting that the shark is CGI and not a real animal, to prevent any implications of animal harm.
Devara is set to offer an extensive cinematic experience with a runtime of 2 hours and 58 minutes. The film stars Jr NTR in the lead role, with Janhvi Kapoor as the female lead and Saif Ali Khan as the antagonist. The cast also includes Abhimanyu Singh, Shine Tom Chacko, Meka Srikanth, Chaithra Rai, and others.
