South Indian superstar Chiranjeevi recently hosted lyricist Chandrabose to celebrate his historic Oscar win for the song “Naatu Naatu” from the movie RRR. Chiranjeevi welcomed Chandrabose on the set of his upcoming Telugu film, Bhola Shankar. In the photos shared on Twitter, Chiranjeevi was seen holding the Oscar trophy and hugging Chandrabose.
Chiranjeevi expressed his pride in knowing that the first ever Telugu words to be heard on the Oscar stage came from Chandrabose. He captioned the post, “What a wonderful feeling that you gave the first ever Telugu words to be heard on the Oscar stage in 95 years!! Chandrabose also received praise from Hollywood star Tom Cruise, who revealed that he loved the song and the film RRR. In an interview with Sakshi TV, Chandrabose shared his happiness at hearing such praise from the legendary actor.
RRR, directed by SS Rajamouli, is a fictional story set in the pre-independent era of the 1920s, based on the lives of revolutionaries Alluri Sitarama Raju and Komaram Bheem. The film, which grossed over ₹1200 crore worldwide during its theatrical run, is currently running in Japan where it has emerged as the highest-grossing Indian film of all time.
