In a remarkable instance of Indian cinema transcending borders and captivating global leaders, Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, the esteemed President of Brazil, recently showered praise on SS Rajamouli’s blockbuster film, ‘RRR’. The Brazilian leader, who was in Delhi to participate in the G20 Summit, expressed his admiration for the film during a media interaction, revealing that he was utterly “enchanted” by the cinematic masterpiece.

Lula’s commendation for the film was not just confined to its entertainment value; he appreciated the deep narrative that critiqued the British rule in India, coupled with the vibrant dance sequences and humor interspersed throughout the film. He voiced his belief that ‘RRR’ deserved to be a global blockbuster, resonating with audiences worldwide. “The film not only entertained but also offered a profound critique of the British dominion over India, encapsulating the essence of revolt, rebellion, and revolution in a three-hour visual spectacle that left me enchanted,” Lula told Firstpost.

Responding to the high praise, the film’s director, SS Rajamouli, took to the micro-blogging platform X, formerly known as Twitter, to express his heartfelt gratitude. In a message brimming with appreciation and humility, Rajamouli wrote, “Sir… @LulaOficial, Thank you so much for your kind words. It’s heartwarming to learn that you mentioned Indian Cinema and enjoyed ‘RRR’!! Our team is ecstatic. Hope you are having a great time in our country.”

This interaction stands as a testament to the universal appeal of Indian cinema, showcasing its ability to resonate with diverse audiences and even influence the perceptions of global leaders.
