The South Indian film industry is renowned for its larger-than-life stars who have captured the hearts of audiences with their mesmerizing performances. From Prabhas to Allu Arjun, these actors enjoy an enormous fan following, and their film releases are eagerly awaited by fans. However, even these megastars sometimes face setbacks as their films experience release delays and fail to perform well at the box office, leaving both the actors and their fans disappointed.

  1. Prabhas: In 2012, Prabhas starred in the action film “Rebel,” which faced financial issues leading to its delayed release. Unfortunately, when the film finally hit the screens, it failed to make a mark and turned out to be a disaster at the box office. “Rebel” featured Prabhas, Tamannaah Bhatia, Deeksha Seth, and Krishnam Raju in pivotal roles.
  2. Mahesh Babu: “Khaleja,” an action-comedy film starring Mahesh Babu, faced a delay in its release due to a controversy surrounding its name. Another producer had registered the name ‘Khaleja’ for his film, leading to discussions and debates. Eventually, Mahesh Babu’s film was released but received a mixed response from the audience.
  3. Allu Arjun: Allu Arjun’s “Arya 2” also suffered a delay due to a protest against the proposed hunger strike by Praja Rajyam Party (PRP) chief K Chiranjeevi for a unified Andhra Pradesh. However, the film was released a few days later, but unfortunately, it failed to leave a lasting impact at the box office.
  4. Nagarjuna: The release of Nagarjuna’s “Damarukam” faced several delays in 2012 due to financial problems encountered during the film’s production. The movie involved extensive use of special effects, which added to the production costs. Regrettably, when “Damarukam” finally hit the screens, it failed to resonate with both the audience and the critics.
  5. Vijay Deverakonda: Vijay Deverakonda’s “Ye Mantram Vesave” experienced a staggering three-year delay before its theatrical release. The film faced various hurdles, including financial crises and delays in post-production work. Unfortunately, when it finally made its way to the cinemas in 2018, “Ye Mantram Vesave” proved to be a disaster at the box office.

These instances serve as a reminder that even the most prominent actors in the South Indian film industry are not immune to the challenges of delayed releases and underwhelming performances. However, the resilience and talent of these stars continue to shine through, as they bounce back with subsequent projects, captivating audiences once again.
