Bollywood Star Kajol Makes OTT Debut with ‘The Trial’ and Opens Up About Her Comeback

Mumbai, India – Bollywood actress Kajol, known for her versatile performances, is eagerly awaiting the release of her next project, ‘Lust Stories 2,’ and her much-anticipated OTT debut, ‘The Trial- Pyaar, Kaanoon, Dhokha.’ Recently, she took to Instagram to share a promotional video for ‘The Trial,’ shedding light on her journey and revealing her character’s name in the series.

In the heartfelt video, Kajol candidly acknowledges that she had taken a break from her professional life at the peak of her career. Despite receiving numerous offers from renowned companies and individuals, her priorities at that time led her to stay at home and be a full-time mother, taking care of her children. However, due to certain circumstances, she now feels the need to resume work.

Expressing her nervousness and fears, Kajol admits to feeling the pressure of starting from scratch and wonders if she can compete with the younger generation. Nevertheless, she firmly believes that her life experiences and acquired skills have equipped her to excel. As the video reaches its conclusion, Kajol unveils her character’s name in ‘The Trial’ as Noyonika Sengupta, a lawyer, confidently stating, “I am a lawyer, and I am ready for my comeback.”

The promotional video, created in collaboration with Disney+ Hotstar, has garnered 1.8 million views, sparking excitement among fans for Kajol’s much-anticipated comeback. Entrepreneur Megha Tiwari expressed her anticipation, stating, “And one actress I always look forward to…. @kajol…..yet to see a talent like her!!” Another user eagerly requested a Punjabi-dubbed version of the show.

Directed by Suparn S. Varma, ‘The Trial- Pyaar, Kaanoon, Dhokha’ revolves around a housewife who must shoulder the responsibility of her family after her husband becomes embroiled in a corruption and sex scandal, leading to his imprisonment. The series is set to premiere on Disney+ Hotstar on July 14.
