Atlee Eyes Epic Collaboration: Shah Rukh Khan and Thalapathy Vijay Together in a Single Film

Fresh from the triumph of his latest blockbuster, “Jawan,” featuring Shah Rukh Khan in the lead, director Atlee has set his sights on an ambitious project – a film that brings together both Shah Rukh Khan and Thalapathy Vijay in leading roles.

In a candid interview with Indian anchor Gobinath on YouTube, Atlee shared his earnest desire to helm a movie with the two mega-stars. He revealed that serious planning is underway, and he is actively searching for the right subject that would justify having both Shah Rukh Khan and Thalapathy Vijay in pivotal roles.

According to Atlee, both iconic actors are enthusiastic about the collaboration and have expressed confidence in his ability to pull off such a challenging production. Their belief in Atlee has fueled the director’s determination to craft a script that lives up to the expectations set by the duo.

Speculations had been rife about Thalapathy Vijay possibly making a cameo appearance in “Jawan,” but Atlee dispelled those rumours a few days before the film’s release. He clarified that he didn’t want Vijay’s involvement to be limited to a cameo and envisioned a substantial collaboration with Shah Rukh Khan.

“Jawan,” Atlee’s debut directorial venture in Hindi, not only became a massive success but also secured Shah Rukh Khan his second blockbuster of 2023. The film showcased Shah Rukh Khan in a dual role, portraying both a father and son, and resonated well with the audience, delivering a quintessential mass masala commercial entertainer.

Atlee, known for his successful collaborations with Thalapathy Vijay in films like “Theri,” “Mersal,” and “Bigil,” has a proven track record of delivering box-office hits.

On the work front, Thalapathy Vijay is currently riding high on the success of the Lokesh Kanagaraj film “Leo,” which is still running in theatres. His next project, tentatively titled “Thalapathy 68,” boasts an ensemble cast including Prabhu Deva, Prashanth, Mic Mohan, Sneha, Laila, and more.

Shah Rukh Khan, after the success of “Jawan,” is set to feature in “Dunki,” directed by Rajkumar Hirani, scheduled for a theatrical release in December. Rumours abound about his potential collaboration with daughter Suhana Khan in a Sujoy Ghosh film, although it remains unconfirmed.

As Atlee embarks on the exciting journey of bringing two cinematic giants together, fans eagerly await the unfolding of this epic collaboration between Shah Rukh Khan and Thalapathy Vijay.
