In the statement issued on Tuesday, Prithviraj confirmed that he underwent surgery as a result of the incident. He further revealed that he would need to rest and undergo physiotherapy for a couple of months to fully recover.

In his Twitter statement, Prithviraj stated, “Hello! So yes… I had an accident while shooting an action sequence for VILAYATH BUDDHA. Fortunately, I’m in the hands of experts who performed a keyhole surgery, and I’m now recouping. It’s rest and physiotherapy ahead for a couple of months. Will try my best to use that time constructively, and I promise to fight through the pain to recover fully and get back into action asap. Thank you to all those who reached out and expressed concern and love.”

The actor’s announcement indicates that his injury will necessitate a break from work for approximately two to three months to facilitate a complete recovery.

Fans of Prithviraj responded to his statement with well wishes and messages of support. One fan wrote, “Your previous rests have always shown that you come back with double power! 😊 This time, hoping to see a triple-powered Prithvi for L2!!! 😊👍🏻 And in the process, Ally gets to experience an unexpected time with Dada! Take rest, bro!” Another user commented, “Get well soon chetta.” Many others urged the actor to come back stronger after his recovery.

Apart from Vilayath Buddha, Prithviraj Sukumaran has several other exciting projects in the pipeline. He stars in Aadujeevitham, a survival drama based on Benyamin’s best-selling novel and directed by Blessy. Additionally, he will appear in Bade Miyan Chote Miyan alongside Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff. Prithviraj is also set to don the director’s hat for his upcoming project L2: Empuraan, a sequel to his directorial debut, Lucifer, starring actor Mohanlal.
