Mumbai – Megastar Amitabh Bachchan is gearing up for his grand return as the host of the iconic TV quiz show, Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC) Season 16. On Thursday, the Bollywood legend took to social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to share an exciting glimpse from the show’s set. He posted a striking black-and-white image with the caption, “T 5082 – BACK to KBC 16th season ..” Alongside, he shared a candid shot of himself in motion, writing, “T 5083 – yes back and still no change in routine – the run is on.”
The announcement comes in the wake of Sony TV’s social media teaser, which stirred fans with a nostalgic promo. The clip began with a touching farewell speech from Bachchan as he wrapped up the previous season, only to be followed by a voiceover hinting at the inevitable return of the beloved host: “Har aarambh ka ant taye hai magar apnon ke pyar mein jo anand hai.. to har ant ke baad shubharambh nishchit hai..” (Every beginning has an end, but the joy of love from your own… ensures that after every end, a new beginning is certain.)

In response, Bachchan remarked, “Gunja jo aapke pyar ka shankhnaad, to aana padega fir” (The sound of your love echoes, I will have to come again). Since its inception in 2000, Bachchan has been a fixture on KBC, with the exception of the third season in 2006, when Shah Rukh Khan stepped in as host.
On the cinematic front, Bachchan was last seen in the futuristic film Kalki 2898 AD, which hit theaters in June. The film, directed by Nag Ashwin, has captivated audiences with its mythology-inspired sci-fi narrative set in the year 2898 AD. The star-studded cast includes Deepika Padukone, Kamal Haasan, Prabhas, and Disha Patani, with cameo appearances by Vijay Deverakonda, Dulquer Salmaan, and Mrunal Thakur.
Bachchan is also busy with other projects, including Vettaiyan, where he shares screen space with Rajinikanth. Additionally, he is set to star in Fakt Purusho Maate, a sequel to the critically acclaimed Fakt Mahilao Maate. In this upcoming film, Bachchan will portray a divine character, a role he previously explored in God Tussi Great Ho (2008). The film, directed by Jay Bodas and Parth Trivedi, promises a humorous exploration of generational divides and the clash between tradition and modernity, featuring Yash Soni, Mitra Gadhvi, Esha Kansara, and Darshan Jariwala. It is slated for a theatrical release on August 15.
