Tamil Nadu Health Minister seeks explanation from Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan after their announcement of having twins

Just a day ago, lady superstar Nayanthara and her filmmaker-husband Vignesh Shivan sent the social media into tizzy by announcing the arrival of their children. The couple tied the knot in June 2022 and only four months after tying the knot, the news of their twins sparked many rumours. One common rumour was about surrogacy. While netizens wondered about Nayanthara never showing off her baby bump, it led to speculations about the celebrity couple opting for surrogacy. Tamil Nadu Health Minister, however, has announced that an inquiry will be conducted to ensure that the required guidelines are followed.

For the uninitiated, after tying the knot in June, a day ago, Vignesh Shivan took to his official Instagram page to share a photo of the couple holding the tiny feet of their newborns and announced the arrival of their twins. He also penned a heartwarming note about turning parents as a caption saying, “Nayan & Me have become Amma & Appa ❤️ We are blessed with Twin Baby Boys❤️❤️ All Our prayers,our ancestors’ blessings combined wit all the good manifestations made, have come 2gethr in the form Of 2 blessed babies for us❤️???? Need all ur blessings for our Uyir???? & Ulagam????” While many expressed their happiness, some others also expressed their surprise over this announcement.

At a recent event when TN Health Minister Ma Subramanian was questioned about this by media about a couple opting for surrogacy within four months of their marriage, he asserted that action will be taken against those who don’t follow proper guidelines. As per guidelines, only married couple can opt for surrogacy. Hence it was also observed that Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan may have opted for the procedure before their wedding. Keeping all this in mind, the Health Minister asserted an inquiry will be conducted against the Directorate of Medical Services to ensure that there has been no breaking of rules in the process.
