Born in Pune, Shreegauri Sawant left her home during her teenage years to avoid disappointing her father, a police officer. In the year 2000, she founded the Sakhi Char Chowghi Trust, an NGO aimed at providing counselling and support to the transgender community while promoting safe sex practices. Shreegauri Sawant made history in 2014 when she became the first transgender activist to file a petition in the Supreme Court of India, advocating for adoption rights for transgender individuals. Her relentless efforts were also pivotal in the landmark case that led to the Supreme Court recognizing transgender people as the third gender.
Sushmita Sen, known for her versatile acting skills, was last seen in the highly acclaimed series “Aarya” on Disney+ Hotstar, where she essayed the role of a homemaker-turned-gangster. After wrapping up the shoot for the third season of “Aarya,” she faced a health setback with a cardiac arrest but made a strong recovery and resumed shooting for the show.
Ravi Jadhav, the mastermind behind “Taali,” is a celebrated director known for his exceptional work in Marathi cinema. He made his directorial debut with the musical drama “Natarang” in 2010, which garnered critical acclaim and won the Best Feature Film in Marathi at the 57th National Film Awards. His short film “Mitraa” received the Silver Lotus Award for Best Short Fiction Film at the 62nd National Film Awards in 2014.
