The moment we’ve all been eagerly awaiting has arrived! Mahesh Babu and SS Rajamouli’s much-anticipated film, SSMB29, officially began on January 2 with a traditional pooja ceremony. Now, numerous visuals from the event are making waves across social media. In the videos, Mahesh Babu and SS Rajamouli are seen arriving at the venue in Hyderabad, accompanied by Rama Rajamouli and the entire SSMB29 team.

Regarding SSMB29, HashtagU had previously confirmed that Priyanka Chopra will star as the female lead opposite Mahesh Babu in this thrilling jungle adventure.
A source close to the project revealed, “The film is in the final stages of its script, and production is scheduled to begin in April 2025. SS Rajamouli specifically sought a female lead with international appeal, and Priyanka is the perfect fit for the role. The director has held multiple discussions with her over the past six months, and everything has finally fallen into place.”
The source further shared that Priyanka is thrilled about the opportunity to work with both SS Rajamouli and Mahesh Babu on this exciting project. The role involves significant action sequences, and she has already begun preparations for it.
In addition, Prithviraj Sukumaran has been cast as the antagonist in SSMB29, joining Mahesh Babu and Priyanka Chopra in key roles. Amid the growing buzz around the film, HashtagU has also confirmed that the makers are targeting a release in 2027.
Sources close to the project have revealed that SSMB29 will be a two-part epic saga, with SS Rajamouli aiming to fuse thrilling elements into the genre. The script is nearly complete, and the first part is scheduled for release in 2027, while the second part is expected to hit theaters in 2029.
The director of RRR plans to continue filming the project through the end of 2026, with the release of the first part slated for the following year.
