Shah Rukh Khan Advocates for Priyamani During “Zinda Banda” Shoot

In a recent interview with Connect FM Canada, acclaimed actor Priyamani shared an endearing anecdote from the sets of the film “Jawan”, highlighting superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s respectful gesture towards her during the shooting of the grand song sequence “Zinda Banda”.

Priyamani recounted the initial choreography rehearsals where she was positioned behind Shah Rukh Khan. However, upon his arrival on set, the superstar immediately sought her out, insisting that she should be dancing alongside him, just as they had previously collaborated in the hit track “One Two Three Four Get On The Dance Floor” from “Chennai Express”.

Shah Rukh Khan, showcasing a camaraderie that transcends the screen, approached choreographer Shobi Master and director Atlee to rearrange the formation, emphasizing Priyamani’s role as his “dance teacher” since their Chennai Express days. In a light-hearted yet assertive manner, he declared that he would follow Priyamani’s lead throughout the performance, even if it meant deviating from the original choreography.

Recounting the incident, Priyamani said, “He took my hand, caught my shoulder, and made me stand next to him, insisting to the director and choreographer that I should be by his side, regardless of the initial choreography plans. He even humorously referred to me as his dance teacher from our Chennai Express days, vowing to follow my moves even if he went wrong.”

This gesture not only brought a sense of unity and respect to the set but also showcased Shah Rukh Khan’s humility and his willingness to learn and collaborate with his co-stars. Priyamani further added that throughout the song, Shah Rukh Khan would consult her on the dance moves, creating a harmonious and collaborative atmosphere on set.

The final arrangement saw Priyamani gracefully matching steps with Shah Rukh Khan, with Sanya Malhotra complementing the trio on the other side, creating a visual treat for the audience and cementing their on-screen camaraderie.
