The film industry is abuzz with anticipation for “Ramayana,” directed by the renowned Nitesh Tiwari. This epic adaptation of the ancient Hindu epic is drawing attention not only for its grand narrative but also for its unprecedented production scale.

A Record-Breaking Budget and Star-Studded Cast

“Ramayana” has set a new milestone in Indian cinema with a staggering budget exceeding Rs. 835 crore, making it the most expensive film ever produced in India. This colossal investment highlights the filmmakers’ commitment to delivering a visually breathtaking and grand retelling of the classic tale.

The film features Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram and Sai Pallavi as Sita Maa. The casting of KGF Chapter 2’s Yash as Raavan has created significant excitement, promising a powerful portrayal. Lara Dutta will play Kaikeyi, while Sunny Deol takes on the role of Lord Hanuman. The cast also includes Vijay Sethupathi, Arun Govil, and Bobby Deol, each bringing their unique talents to this ambitious project.

Recent updates from the Times of India reveal that director Nitesh Tiwari has completed filming the first part of the movie. While some minor patchwork and extensive VFX work remain, the team has begun dismantling the 12 massive sets, signaling smooth progress in production.

A Shift from Trilogy to Two Parts

Originally envisioned as a trilogy, “Ramayana” will now be released in two parts. This decision aims to maintain a tight and impactful storytelling experience without unnecessary extension. Filming for the second part is expected to start soon, with completion anticipated by December 2025.

An extensive post-production phase of around 600 days is planned to perfect the visual effects and ensure the film’s cinematic excellence. With a projected release in 2027, “Ramayana” is set to be a visual extravaganza that will captivate audiences worldwide.
