S Thaman’s take on Akhanda 2: Thandavam ‘Second half is a delightful bonus!’

Nandamuri Balakrishna’s Akhanda 2 is highly anticipated for 2025. Though the release date is yet to be officially announced, reports indicate a September theatrical debut. As fans eagerly await its arrival, composer Thaman Shivakumar Ghantasala has shared his thoughts on the NBK starrer.
During the success event of Daaku Maharaaj, composer Thaman sparked excitement about Akhanda 2, praising director Boyapati Srinu’s exceptional work on the film. According to Reports, he enthused, “Akhanda 2 offers paisa vasool in the first half, with the second half serving as a delightful bonus.”
For those unfamiliar, the NBK starrer commenced filming amidst the recent Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj, Boyapati captured pivotal montage shots at the Maha Kumbh to introduce NBK’s character in Akhanda 2. Following the Maha Kumbh schedule, the director scouted locations for crucial scenes in Gudimetla Village near Nandigama, located in the NTR district.
Earlier, a source close to the production revealed details about Akhanda 2, stating, “The sequel will reintroduce the character of Akhanda, confronting new socio-political challenges.” Alongside NBK, Pragya Jaiswal will play a significant role in the movie.
Meanwhile, Balayya is currently enjoying the success of Daaku Maharaaj. Directed by Bobby Kolli, the film tells the story of an officer who transforms into a fearless dacoit to liberate a village from the tyranny of a powerful family. His journey is marked by overcoming numerous challenges, ultimately emerging as a leader without a kingdom.
Daaku Maharaaj stars Bobby Deol as the main antagonist, with Urvashi Rautela, Shraddha Srinath, and Pragya Jaiswal portraying pivotal roles. The ensemble cast also includes Chandini Chowdary, Shine Tom Chacko, and Ravi Kishan in supporting roles.
