Prithviraj Sukumaran announces the release of Kantara in Malayalam

Actor-director Prithviraj Sukumaran was recently impressed when he watched the Rakshit Shetty starrer Kantara which features him in the role of a Kambala (buffalo race) athlete in a village in Karnataka.

Actor-director Prithviraj Sukumaran was recently impressed when he watched the Rakshit Shetty starrer Kantara which features him in the role of a Kambala (buffalo race) athlete in a village in Karnataka. While the film has been receiving appreciation from several quarters owing to its brilliant portrayal of characters and plotline, an impressed Prithviraj has decided to release the film in Malayalam. He took to social media to announce about it and even urged everyone to not miss out on this feature film.

Speaking about it on social media, Prithviraj Sukumaran shared a poster of Kantara in Malayalam and said, “#KANTAARA Malayalam! Coming soon! I absolutely HAD to do this after watching the Kannada version! Do not miss this gem in the theatres when it releases across Kerala in Malayalam. @hombalefilms @prithvirajproductions @rishabshetty77”

The actor-director also went on to add another post appreciating Rishab Shetty for his performance in the film as well as Hombale films adding, “#KANTARA is a glorious cinematic achievement! #RishabhShetty is an absolute genius both in front and behind the camera! @hombalefilms What a mind blowing portfolio of content you’re building. Thank you for leading the way! @rishabshetty77 You were beyond spectacular in the last 20 minutes.”

Kantara is an action thriller that also features Achyuth Kumar, Sapthami Gowda, Kishore, Pramod Shetty, among others. The film is an action thriller based on a folktale about a deal that is signed between a King and Guliga/Kshetrapala community where the community are the protectors of a deity that was lent to a King in exchange of a piece of land where the community is protected. While signing the deal it was understood that going back on his words would lead to the King facing the wrath of the deity. Years later, when the descendants of the King try to take away the land, they are faced with the brutality of the powerful deity.
