Pavithra Gowda, the main suspect in the Renukaswamy murder case, was released from Parappana Agrahara Central Prison on Tuesday. As Reports Suggest That, the Karnataka High Court recently granted her conditional bail. Along with Pavithra Gowda, actor Darshan and several other accused individuals Anu Kumar (also known as Anu), R Nagaraju, Jagadeesh (alias Jagga), Lakshman M, and Pradoosh S Rao were also granted bail.
After her release from jail, Pavithra Gowda, accompanied by her family, visited the Vajra Muneshwara temple in Talaghattapura. There, she performed a special prayer for Darshan, during which she became visibly emotional. Holding incense sticks, she walked around the temple in reverence. Once the rituals were completed, Pavithra declined to speak to the media, offering a brief “thanks” before leaving in her car. In keeping with temple customs, her family also performed a ritual to ward off evil spirits, breaking an ash gourd. The scene was captured by photographers and onlookers.
Earlier, Darshan, along with Pavithra Gowda and 15 others, was arrested in connection with the Renukaswamy murder case on June 11. However, the Kannada actor was granted interim bail for medical reasons and was released from Ballari jail on October 30 after spending over four months in custody. The Karnataka High Court had allowed his release for six weeks to undergo spine surgery.
Despite reports suggesting Darshan skipped the surgery and was discharged from the hospital, his brother Dinakar and friend Dhanveer provided surety for his bail. Dinakar signed a personal bond worth Rs. 1 lakh as part of the bail conditions.
The Kannada actor also filed an application seeking the return of his passport. Unlike his interim bail, this request was not part of his regular bail conditions. However, his advocate confirmed that the court had agreed to return the passport.
