Recently, in a chat with Siddharth Kannan, actor Nani revealed an intriguing secret: he was once part of a star-studded WhatsApp group that included some of the biggest names in Telugu cinema. Among its 143 members were well-known actors such as Ram Charan, Allu Arjun, and Rana Daggubati. Nani offered a candid glimpse into the group’s lively dynamics, noting that while it used to be an active and buzzing space, it has since faded into inactivity.
Nani explained that the group was created simply to stay in touch and served as a casual platform for sharing jokes and chatting, much like any close-knit friends’ group. There was never any grand objective behind it; it was just a means of maintaining connections. He chuckled as he recalled the fun and lighthearted atmosphere that once defined their interactions.
However, over time, the WhatsApp group lost its vibrancy. Many members changed their phone numbers, which contributed to the group’s decline in activity. Nani confessed that he wasn’t entirely sure why this happened, but the shift seemed inevitable. He even admitted to muting the group at one point due to the sheer volume of messages bombarding his phone. With so many actors involved, there was always someone reacting or posting, leading to a continuous stream of notifications. Nani joked, “We all need to work, after all.”
He shared that every time he checked his phone, he would find upwards of 62 unread messages, and by the next day, that number would grow. It became impossible for him to keep up with the discussions, so he simply chose to ignore the flood of notifications, not feeling the need to engage in every conversation.
Interestingly, it was Lakshmi Manchu who first mentioned this WhatsApp group during a conversation with Siddharth Kannan. She fondly reminisced about it, saying, “I hold this group really close. We all grew up together, and that clique will always be that clique. But over time, we enhanced it and made it bigger, and I’m very proud of it.”
For now, Nani kept the identities of the other actors in the group under wraps, leaving fans to wonder who else might have been part of this exclusive circle.
While the group may no longer be as active, it certainly holds a special place in the hearts of those involved. The camaraderie among these stars, who share not just a professional bond but also a personal one, highlights the lasting friendships forged in the world of cinema.
