Mammootty announces his next production

Malayalam superstar Mammootty seems to have left his fans inquisitive yet again with the announcement of yet another movie. The actor will be seen leading the cast of an untitled action entertainer that will be directed by Roby Raj Varghese. The official social media account of the star as well as his production house, took to the platform, to announce the news and also shared a poster with the names of the crew. However, further details of the casting are kept under wraps.

Coming to the untitled venture, marking the fourth production project of Mammotty, the film’s story is written by Muhammad Safi who has also written the screenplay along with Rony David Raj. With cinematographer Muhammed Rahil and music composer Sushin Shyam on board, the editing will be done by Praveen Prabhakar. Sharing the announcement on the official Instagram of Mammootty Company, it was captioned saying, “Our Production No.4 | Crew List Poster”.

The film is expected to feature Mammootty in a unique role of an investigative officer and it is expected to be a murder mystery. The storyline seems to remind us of his popular role as Sethurama Iyer from the CID series. Besides this, it is also being said that the film will be extensively shot in Kerala along some portions of the shoot is scheduled in North India. The film is said to be going on floors on January 1.

Coming to Roby Raj Varghese, this film will be his directorial debut. He previously made a mark in films as a cinematographer and has worked with Mammootty in films like The Great Father (2017) and Puthiya Niyamam (2016). His last film as a cinematographer was John Luther (2022), a thriller drama starring Jayasurya, Siddiqui, among others. On the other hand, Mammootty was last seen in an unconventional neo-noir thriller Rorschach that also starred Grace Anthony, Bindu Panicker, Sanju Sivram among others.
