The much-anticipated title and teaser of Vijay Deverakonda’s upcoming film with Gowtam Tinnanuri were revealed on Wednesday. The film, titled Kingdom, has Jr NTR and Suriya lending their voices for the Telugu and Tamil versions, respectively. Meanwhile, Ranbir Kapoor has voiced the Hindi version, titled Saamraajya.
The teaser immerses the audience in the heart of a brutal war by the sea, where countless lives are claimed on both sides. Jr NTR’s voiceover suggests that this chaos is merely the beginning—setting the stage for the emergence of a new hero.
While details about Vijay Deverakonda’s character remain scarce, the teaser hints at his intense role. One scene shows him battling an opponent, using a police shield for protection. Another moment reveals him surrounded by prisoners, clad in a prison uniform. The teaser concludes with his powerful line: “I will do anything needed, sir, including destroying everything.” Kingdom is set to hit theaters on May 30.
Kingdom, directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, is shaping up to be an action-packed thriller. Back in July of last year, two photos of Vijay Deverakonda from the film were leaked online. One showed him riding as a pillion passenger on a bike along the beach, captured from a distance. The other depicted him staring into the camera amid a lively village festival.
The first image was taken during an outdoor shoot, while the second was leaked from a monitor on set. In both photos, Vijay sports a rugged look, complete with cropped hair and a beard. After the images surfaced, the film’s team released an official poster of Vijay, urging fans to refrain from spreading the leaks and to be patient.
Produced by Naga Vamsi under Sithara Entertainments, Kingdom features music by Anirudh Ravichander. Vijay also has a period drama lined up with Rahul Sankrithyan, following their successful collaboration on Taxiwaala for VD 14. Further details about the film are still awaited.
