Vishnu Manchu’s highly anticipated mythological epic Kannappa, featuring a star-studded cast, has officially locked in a new release date. As per trade analyst Taran Adarsh, the announcement was made during a special meeting with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
On Wednesday, trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared an update on X (formerly Twitter), revealing that the release of Kannappa has been postponed from its original 25 April date. The new release date is now set for 27 June 2025. In his post, Adarsh wrote that the official announcement was made during a special meeting with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

The pan-India mythological action saga stars Vishnu Manchu in the lead, alongside an ensemble cast including Mohanlal, Prabhas, Akshay Kumar, and Kajal Aggarwal. Directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh and produced by M Mohan Babu, Kannappa will release in Telugu, Malayalam, Tamil, Kannada, and Hindi.
Prabhu Deva and Vishnu Manchu, accompanied by Mohan Babu and Vinay Maheshwar, recently met with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath at his office in Lucknow to promote their upcoming film Kannappa. During the meeting, CM Adityanath signed a poster of the film and extended his heartfelt wishes to the team for its success. The Kannappa team also presented him with a glass painting and other gifts, followed by group photographs to commemorate the occasion.
Vishnu Manchu on the Delay Earlier, Vishnu Manchu addressed the delay in Kannappa’s release via a post on X, writing: “Dear fans, well-wishers and movie lovers, bringing #KANNAPPA to life has been an incredible journey, and we are committed to delivering a cinematic spectacle that meets the highest standards. To ensure this, we need a few more weeks to perfect a key episode requiring extensive VFX work. This means the release of the project will be a bit delayed.”

Kannappa is a Telugu-language mythological drama inspired by the legendary tale of Bhakta Kannappa, a devoted follower of Lord Shiva. Directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh and produced by veteran actor-producer Mohan Babu, the film stars Vishnu Manchu in the lead role. The ensemble cast includes Mohanlal and Prabhas in pivotal roles, with Akshay Kumar portraying Lord Shiva and Kajal Aggarwal as Goddess Parvati. The film’s trailer was showcased at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival, and it is now slated for a theatrical release on 27 June 2025.
