Kamal Hassan discharged from Chennai hospital hours after being admitted for fever

Actor Kamal Hassan was admitted to a hospital in Chennai on Wednesday night.

Actor Kamal Hassan was admitted to a hospital in Chennai on Wednesday night. As per news agency ANI, Kamal was hospitalised after he complained of fever. The actor was undergoing treatment in the Sri Ramachandra Hospital.

When Hindustan Times contacted Kamal’s team, they said that he has been discharged from the hospital. As per the team, the actor has been advised to take rest for two days.

Kamal’s hospitalistion came hours after he met Telugu director K Viswanath on Wednesday at his home in Hyderabad. On Instagram, Kamal had shared a picture as he took blessings from the director. He captioned the post, “Met the master K Viswanath sir at his home. Lots of nostalgia and respect!!” In the photo, Viswanath sat in a wheelchair, while Kamal bowed while he held his hand.

Kamal was also hospitalised last year after he contracted Covid-19 on his return from the US. He had tweeted in Tamil, the translation of which read, “There was a slight cough after returning from the US trip. Govt infection was confirmed on examination. I am isolated in the hospital. Realise that the epidemic is not over yet and everyone be safe.”

Fans saw Kamal last in the action-thriller Vikram alongside Vijay Sethupathi and Fahad Faasil, which was huge hit at the box office. He will be next be seen in director Shankar’s film Indian 2. Indian 2 also stars Siddharth, Kajal Aggarwal, Rakul Preet Singh, Bobby Simhaa, and Priya Bhavani Shankar in key roles.

Kamal treated his fans with the announcement that he will be collaborating with director Mani Ratnam for #KH234 finally after 35 years. The film will be out in theatres in 2024. It is being produced by Kamal Haasan, Mani Ratnam, R Mahendran, and Siva Ananth under their respective banners Raaj Kamal Films International and Madras Talkies.
