Tamil filmmaker Karthik Subbaraj has carved a niche for himself with an impressive lineup of films, including hits like “Petta,” “Mahaan,” “Pizza,” and more. His second feature film, “Jigarthanda,” a dark action comedy that starred Siddharth, Bobby Simha, and Guru Somasundaram, became a massive success, earning accolades from both fans and critics.

The first look poster dropped in December, further building excitement among fans. To keep the anticipation soaring, the makers unveiled a teaser on September 11, 2023. Now, they’ve released the film’s first single, titled “Maamadura.”

“Maamadura” is a foot-tapping party anthem that sets the mood right. Composed by the talented Santhosh Narayanan, who also lends his voice alongside the dynamic Dhee, the song’s catchy lyrics are penned by Vivek. With a classic “dappankuthu” beat, the music composer elevates the energy to make it one of this year’s standout party tracks. Dhee’s vocals blend seamlessly with the rhythm, making it a must-listen for music enthusiasts.
More About the Film:
The original 2014 film “Jigarthanda” revolved around an aspiring filmmaker who embarks on a journey to a different district to research a local gangster but finds himself trapped in a series of events, eventually being forced to make a film with the gangster in the lead role. The sequel, “Jigarthanda Double X,” is said to follow a similar premise while taking a completely different approach from its predecessor. The creators have intriguingly labelled the film as a “Pandian Western.”
In addition to SJ Suryah and Raghava Lawrence in the lead roles, the film features Nimisha Sajayan, renowned for her roles in films like “The Great Indian Kitchen” and “Chithha.” With high expectations surrounding the film, “Jigarthanda Double X” is all set to hit the big screens in November this year, promising an exciting cinematic experience for Tamil cinema enthusiasts.
