Buchi Babu Sana’s much-awaited second film, RC 16, following his successful debut with Uppena, officially began shooting in Mysore on Friday. The film, starring Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor in the lead roles, marks an exciting new chapter for the director. To kick off the journey, Buchi Babu shared a picture from the Chamundeshwari Matha temple early in the day, offering a prayer and seeking blessings from his fans.

Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor’s upcoming film RC 16 has officially gone on floors. Director Buchi Babu Sana marked the occasion by sharing a photo of himself holding the film’s script in front of the Chamundeshwari Matha temple. Posting on X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram, he wrote, “It’s a BIG DAY… The most awaited moment. Started with the blessings of Chamundeshwari Matha, Mysore. Blessings needed. #RC16.”

Janhvi Kapoor, clearly excited about the film’s launch, expressed her enthusiasm with a simple yet heartfelt comment: “Sir,” accompanied by fire, heart, clapping, and prayer emojis. Ram Charan’s Magadheera co-star, Dev Gill, showed his support with flag and heart emojis, while Ram’s cousin Pawan Tej Konidela shared a message of encouragement: “We all are waiting to. All the best buchimayya eragathisey. (Kill it, my friend Buchi).”

In other exciting news, the film’s producers, Mythri Movie Makers, announced on Friday that veteran actor Jagapathi Babu has joined the cast in a “commanding character” that is sure to leave an impression. They wrote, “Team #RC16 welcomes the incredibly talented @IamJagguBhai on board for a commanding character that will impress one and all.” This marks another collaboration between Jagapathi Babu and Ram Charan, as they previously worked together in Sukumar’s Rangasthalam.

When will the lead cast join the shoot?

According to sources close to the project, director Buchi Babu Sana has already begun filming RC 16 with other key actors. Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor are set to join the shoot on Monday, where they will film some crucial scenes. Ram, in particular, has undergone a significant physical transformation for his role, with his fitness trainer, Shivoham, hinting at the change through a picture posted on Instagram earlier this year.

RC 16 is expected to be a sports drama set in Uttarandhra. Vijay Sethupathi, who collaborated with Buchi Babu on his debut film Uppena, recently shared his excitement about the project while promoting Maharaja in Hyderabad. He expressed confidence that RC 16 will be a “sure-shot blockbuster.”
