Jailer 2: Rajinikanth’s Muthuvel Pandian Embarks on a ‘Hunt’ as Filming Kicks Off

The highly anticipated Rajinikanth starrer Jailer 2 was previously teased, and now the filming has officially begun. The film’s makers made the announcement with a post on social media.

On their Instagram account, they shared, ‘Muthuvel Pandian’s hunt begins! #Jailer2 shoot starts today.’ The post included a striking new poster of Rajinikanth, drenched in blood, with a fierce and intense expression.

Earlier, the 4-minute-long announcement teaser for the film showcased director Nelson and musician Anirudh Ravichander in their signature playful banter. As the teaser unfolded, the intensity built up, culminating with Rajinikanth making a grand entrance at the end, delivering a powerful moment.

While it’s confirmed that Rajinikanth will reprise his iconic role as Muthuvel Pandian, the rest of the cast has yet to be revealed. Watch the Jailer 2 announcement teaser here.

On the work front, Rajinikanth was last seen in Vettaiyan, directed by TJ Gnanavel. In this police action drama, he played the role of an IPS officer and encounter specialist, earning the nickname Vettaiyan (The Hunter). The story takes a twist when his character accidentally kills an innocent person, believed to be a criminal, throwing his professional life into turmoil. He must now uncover the true masterminds behind the crime and seek justice. In addition to Rajinikanth, the film boasted a stellar ensemble cast, including Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, Manju Warrier, Ritika Singh, Dushara Vijayan, and many others.

Rajinikanth will soon be seen in Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. This action-packed film is expected to feature the superstar in a negative role, marking the first collaboration between Rajinikanth and Lokesh. While the plot remains under wraps, the movie will also feature a star-studded cast, including Nagarjuna Akkineni, Upendra Rao, Shruti Haasan, Soubin Shahir, Sathyaraj, and more.
