Actor Gopichand plays a daring new role as an assassin in his upcoming film with director Sreenu Vaitla, Viswam. The first glimpse of this action-packed thriller was unveiled on Thursday, coinciding with Eid celebrations. In the teaser titled “Viswam Glimpse: The First Strike,” viewers are given a glimpse of the film’s narrative, centred around its titular character.
The teaser opens amidst wedding festivities in Himachal Pradesh, where jubilant celebrations are underway. Amidst the music, chants, and culinary delights, Gopichand makes a dramatic entrance, clad in a hoodie and carrying a guitar case. However, he unleashes a machine gun from the case instead of music, shocking everyone present. Without hesitation, he eliminates the wedding party, including the priest, bride, groom, and guests. In a chilling moment, he remarks, “Daane daane pe likha, khaane wala ka naam…ispe likha mera naam,” adding depth to his enigmatic character.
Fans were taken aback by Gopichand’s portrayal of a morally ambiguous character, with some humorously suggesting alternative methods to acquire biryani. Others expressed hope for both the actor and director, wishing for a successful outing with “Viswam.”
“Viswam,” directed by Sreenu Vaitla and produced by TG Vishwa Prasad under People Media Factory and Venu Donepudi’s Chitralayam Studios, boasts a talented crew. KV Guhan serves as the cinematographer, while Chaitan Bharadwaj handles the film’s music. Notably, the screenplay is penned by Gopi Mohan, who is known for his collaboration with Sreenu Vaitla. Amar Reddy Kudumula takes on the role of editor, with Kiran Manne as the art director. Despite keeping the rest of the cast under wraps, the makers promise a theatrical release later this year, generating anticipation among cinephiles.
