Dulquer Salmaan’s highly anticipated period heist comedy, “Lucky Bhaskar,” has adjusted its release strategy, opting to move away from its initial September 27th slot. This decision was prompted by the upcoming release of Jr NTR’s much-anticipated “Devara: Part 1” on the same date. To optimize its box office prospects, the makers of “Lucky Bhaskar” have strategically chosen a post-Diwali release, likely in late October or early November. This shift aims to minimize competition and provide the film a better opportunity to stand out.
Sithara Entertainments, the production house behind the film, has officially confirmed October 31st, 2024, as the new release date. Dulquer Salmaan himself has heightened anticipation by sharing a stylish glimpse from the film, further intriguing fans.
“Lucky Bhaskar” revolves around the life of Bhaskar, a bank cashier yearning to break free from his mundane routine. The teaser, unveiled in April, portrays him as a typical middle-class Indian whose life takes an unexpected turn when he stumbles upon a significant sum of money. The film delves into the repercussions of newfound wealth and explores his romance with Meenakshi Chaudhary. Set in the late 1980s to early 1990s, the movie recreates the era with meticulously designed sets resembling Bombay of that time. A period-correct bank set was meticulously constructed in Hyderabad for the production.
Produced by Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya of Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas, “Lucky Bhaskar” features music composed by GV Prakash Kumar. The film boasts a talented team, including production designer Banglan, who ensured authenticity in recreating the era, and cinematographer Nimish Ravi, who vividly captured Venky’s vision.
