Devara: Jr NTR Begins Promotions Ahead of Action-Packed Film’s Release in Japan

Jr. NTR gained international fame with his 2022 film RRR, directed by the acclaimed SS Rajamouli. It was announced in December that his latest project, Devara: Part 1, directed by Koratala Siva, will be released in Japan on March 28th.

This marks Jr. NTR’s second film to be released in Japan, following the success of RRR. Recently, the actor has begun promotional activities for the Japanese release, interacting with Japanese media through video conferences to discuss the upcoming film. Reports also suggest that Jr. NTR is scheduled to visit Japan on March 22nd for a week-long promotional tour.

Jr. NTR Engages with Japanese Media Ahead of Devara: Part 1 Release

Jr. NTR developed a special connection with Japan during his visit for RRR promotions. Since then, he has frequently expressed his affection for the country, even reaching out during times of crisis.

Devara: Part 1 is an action-packed drama and marks the second collaboration between Jr. NTR and director Koratala Siva. The film boasts an impressive cast, including Janhvi Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, Prabhas, Shine Tom Chacko, and several others in key roles.

The film Devara follows the journey of Vara, who strives to carry on his father Devara’s mission of eradicating illegal smuggling from their island nation. Upon its release, the film received mixed reactions from both fans and critics. Devara is produced by Sudhakar Mikkilineni and Kosaraju Harikrishna under the banners of Yuvasudha Arts and NTR Arts. The film’s music is composed by Anirudh Ravichander, with R. Rathnavelu handling cinematography and A. Sreekar Prasad overseeing editing.

On Jr. NTR’s professional front, the actor is currently working on his much-anticipated project with KGF director Prashanth Neel, tentatively titled NTRNEEL. While details about the project remain scarce, it’s known that filming began in Hyderabad earlier this month.

Rumors suggest that Malayalam actor Tovino Thomas and Kannada actress Rukmini Vasanth may have significant roles in the film. However, neither the actors nor the filmmakers have officially confirmed these reports. NTRNEEL is slated for release on January 9, 2026.
