Deepika Padukone to play lead opposite Mahesh Babu in this SS Rajamouli film?

Stalwarts Mahesh Babu and SS Rajamouli are all set to come together and it is not surprising that their collaboration has garnered ample attention. Along with that, there is much anticipation and hype attached to it considering the celebrities and from what we hear, the makers are leaving no stone unturned to create it in a lavish scale. Recent reports have it that Deepika Padukone might be seen as the leading lady opposite the Pokiri actor but there has been no confirmation from anyone.

Reports have been making rounds that Deepika Padukone has been approached for the project. The actress, who has shared screen space with some of the biggest names in the South industry, is currently busy with another Pan India film with Prabhas. The duo will be coming together for the Amitabh Bachchan starrer ambitious sci-fi film Project K. On the other hand, if all goes well, Deepika will also be  sharing screen space with Mahesh Babu for the first time in a film that will be directed by the RRR filmmaker SS Rajamouli.

Coming to this untitled film of Mahesh Babu, SS Rajamouli had revealed in the recent film festival in the US that it will be a globetrotting action adventure film. Later writer KV Vijayendra Prasad also added that the film is based on a real life story. Speaking about the film, Mahesh Babu too had confirmed the developments adding, “It’s too early to speak about the film, but it’s a dream come true for me. SS Rajamouli and I have been trying to work together for a long time and it’s finally happening. I am really excited about the film.”

While Deepika Padukone is currently busy with Pathaan and Fighter along with Project K, Mahesh Babu is working with Trivikram Srinivas on their next untitled venture.
