A case has been filed against six members of the Osmania University Joint Action Committee (OU-JAC) for reportedly vandalizing actor Allu Arjun’s residence. The incident occurred in the wake of the controversy surrounding the Sandhya Theatre tragedy. The incident occurred around 4:45 pm, when a group of protesters gathered outside actor Allu Arjun’s residence in Jubilee Hills. Holding placards and chanting slogans, one of the demonstrators climbed the compound wall and began throwing tomatoes.

The protesters allegedly clashed with security personnel when they attempted to intervene. During the altercation, the protesters reportedly manhandled the staff and caused damage to several flower pots along the ramp. Footage from the scene showed broken flower pots, shattered glass, and damaged plants outside the actor’s home, which were said to have been caused by stone-pelting.

A statement from the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) described the events: “At around 4:45 pm, a group of individuals carrying placards suddenly rushed to the residence of actor Allu Arjun in Jubilee Hills, where they began chanting slogans. One protester climbed the compound wall and started throwing tomatoes. When security staff intervened and urged them to come down, an altercation ensued. The protesters climbed down, manhandled the security personnel, and damaged several flower pots along the ramp.”

“Upon receiving the information, the Jubilee Hills Police arrived at the scene and took six individuals into custody. The arrested individuals reportedly claimed affiliation with the Osmania University Joint Action Committee (OU-JAC),” an official said.

Tensions escalated following a series of public statements exchanged between the actor and the state government. According to the Jubilee Hills Police, members of the OU-JAC organized a protest outside Allu Arjun’s residence on Sunday, where they held placards and chanted slogans. As of now, neither Allu Arjun nor his family has filed a formal complaint. The police are continuing their investigation, and further updates are expected.

Earlier, on Saturday, Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy mentioned in the Assembly that the police had denied permission for any event at Sandhya Theatre, citing safety concerns. Despite these warnings, Allu Arjun allegedly attended the premiere, climbed onto his car roof, and held a roadshow at RTC X Road, which led to the ensuing chaos.

“On December 2, Akbaruddin Owaisi made a request for arrangements to be made for the cast and crew of Pushpa 2 to attend the film’s release at Sandhya Theatre on December 4,” Reddy said. “However, on December 3, the Chikkadpally Circle Inspector officially denied the request, citing concerns about the theatre’s location in a congested area with only one entry and exit point, which posed significant safety risks. Despite this, the actor attended the event, climbed onto the roof of his car, and conducted a roadshow, which only exacerbated the situation.”

The Chief Minister further explained how the police took action during the ensuing chaos. “The ACP initially asked the actor to leave in order to manage the crowd, but he refused, saying he would leave after watching the movie. The DCP then had to step in, warning the actor with arrest if he didn’t comply. Even as he was leaving, the actor repeated the act of climbing onto his car roof and waving to the fans.”

Addressing the incident on December 4, Allu Arjun expressed his deep condolences. “It was a tragic accident, and my heart goes out to the family. I’ve been keeping track of the injured child’s condition, and I’m relieved to hear he is recovering. Unfortunately, there has been a lot of misinformation and baseless allegations. I don’t want to point fingers at any department or politician. This situation is extremely distressing for me.”

The actor rejected the allegations of misconduct, describing them as an attempt at “character assassination.” He added, “I’ve been in the film industry for 20 years, and this incident has been incredibly difficult. I haven’t even had the chance to watch my own film in the theatre, despite having worked on it for three years. I deeply regret the incident, but I want to make it clear that I had no direct involvement in the unfortunate events.”

Through an Instagram post, Allu Arjun called on his fans to maintain respect and refrain from using abusive language or engaging in inappropriate behavior, both online and offline. The tragedy unfolded on December 4 when the actor attended the premiere of Pushpa 2: The Rule.

A large crowd gathered to catch a glimpse of Allu Arjun, and the situation intensified when he waved to the fans from the sunroof of his car. Unfortunately, this led to the death of a woman named Revathi and left her child injured. In the aftermath of the incident, Allu Arjun was arrested but was later granted bail after posting a ₹50,000 bond. Directed by Sukumar, Pushpa 2: The Rule is the highly anticipated sequel to the smash hit Pushpa: The Rise and is already shattering box office records.
