According to a HashtagU report, the ticket prices for Pushpa 2: The Rule have now reached a record high for a Telugu film. The paid preview screenings will take place on Wednesday, December 4, at 9:30 pm in select theatres, with ticket prices set at ₹944 (inclusive of GST) for both single screens and multiplexes.
The Andhra Pradesh government has approved six shows of Pushpa 2 across single screens and multiplexes, with tickets priced at ₹324.50 and ₹413, respectively. In addition, the state has granted permission to hold five shows per day at the same rates from December 6 to 17, further supporting the film’s release.
Meanwhile, the Telangana government’s decision to hike ticket prices for Pushpa 2 has sparked controversy. In Telangana, the ticket prices for the paid preview screenings have been set at ₹1,200, while tickets for multiplexes are priced at ₹531 and ₹354 for single screens. A petition challenging the price hike has been filed in the Telangana High Court, which is scheduled to hear the case today, December 3 Today, just a day before the film’s premiere.
Directed by Sukumar and produced by Mythri Movie Makers and Muttamsetty Media, Pushpa 2: The Rule will see Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna, and Fahadh Faasil reprise their iconic roles as Pushpa Raj, Srivalli, and Bhanwar Singh Shekawat, respectively.
Allu Arjun, the lead star, received widespread acclaim for his performance in the first installment, even winning a National Film Award. The original Pushpa, also helmed by Sukumar, delved into intense power struggles set against the backdrop of red sandalwood smuggling. The highly anticipated sequel is set to hit theatres on December 5.
